I am finally back home and it was a real joy running on the streets of Tuzla. In addition, the weather was perfect. After recent 33 deg in the shade, it came down to 20 deg. And I took off the yellow jacket this time.

This story is a daily article related to the following:

I wanted to do 11km which I did, because Tuzla has many streets to wind up in and you can probably wind up in any of them easily. Due to my experience I knew exactly where to run in order to get those 11km.

Stats

Looking at my pace, it is probably the best one so far since I started training. Heart rate is pretty much the same every time. Everyone is built differently. I will need to test my resting heart rate and post soon.

Challenges

  • If I had to choose, I would say the shoes are getting ready to be replaced, but probably after the final race since we should run in those that we trained with.

Joy

  • Great post workout feeling

For me it is important to keep training at this mid-level distance and what I want to do is to try running laps with faster pace and wake up some of these old sprint muscles. This will have great benefit to my endurance and overall speed.

TIP OF THE DAY:

If I ever repeat some of the tips, that’s because it is stuck in my head and I think it is important. I usually write about something that crosses my mind while running.

The following should be tested by each individual and results might be different for everyone.

Experiment with days off. Some people do better after one-day break while others might need a bit more. Also experiment with how long does your body need the time off in order to lose the gains from the previous training.

For me, I do best after having 2 days off where I previously had 2 consequent days of running longer distances. On the other hand, if I train for a month and reach certain performance level, and then pause for a month, I would usually perform 50% less than what I did before.
