Summer 2018 — New York Meetup

I know, I know, the title might be a misleading, but again, It might not. The title is about WHAT. The actual article is about WHY. I would love to hear your thoughts once you reach the end of it.

On the other hand, I have to be honest, the title should have probably said ‘Why I love working for my company’. But then, how would you know that we are currently hiring :)?

My name is Adnan and I am a senior software engineer at Lenox Park Solutions, a high-growth FinTech startup that has made a transition from being an advisor to successful businesses to what we are doing right now, building our own FinTech products. We are based in Austin, TX and New York but our company culture reaches several countries in the world since a few of us work completely remotely.

Our idea is to democratize capital and create Collaborative Investment and Networking Platforms that are purpose-built for the Asset Management Industry.

Now, I don’t want to give you things that might sound like a sales pitch. I want to tell you actually what we do and how we do it and why I am here to stay.

“You can’t build a great building on a weak foundation. You must have a solid foundation if you’re going to have a strong superstructure”

Our solid foundation is our Founder and CEO Jason Lamin, who is giving 200% of his efforts and his time to steer us in the right direction while still having time to talk to each of us on an individual level.

Other than Jason, there are 9 more people who are directly responsible for the success of Lenox Park Solutions, Inc.. Each of them is able to wear multiple hats in the company, which is something that’s really important for a startup.

I don’t know if every startup is as exciting and adventurous as us. I guess that depends on where you are headed. For us, we know exactly where we want to be in the next couple of years and what we need to do in order to get there.

I don’t think it’s the best use of your time reading about our strategy. As a matter of fact, let me show you a different angle, and you can see if you could imagine yourself in my shoes.

1. Our CEO knows how important it is to go offline and establish a healthy, normal human communication, and that’s why he gathers us a couple of times a year somewhere in the world where we spend a week recharging, revising past accomplishments, coming up with new plans and catching up in general.

2. Working 9–5 isn’t as affective as it used to be when you were manufacturing in a big factory. Today, you pick when you want to work and how much you want to work, as long as you keep crashing your deadlines.

3. No one likes having a micromanager. That’s why we have an accountability and transparency policy in place, so everyone knows your goals and whether you achieved them or not.

4. You are actively participating in major technical and non-technical decisions.

5. You have an opportunity to be creative with your work, whether we are talking about coding, designing, writing …

6. “Speak and you shall be heard”

7. You want to learn new things, take new courses … We’ve got you covered!

8. It is OK to fail as long as we learn from it.

9. If you are an athletic person and like to compete, I am sure you will find someone to compare your running pace with.

10. Want to get insights on how real business is done, beyond code and design? Then you are in the right place because you will not only hear about it, you will experience it, either through meeting our clients, advisory board members who are running other successful companies or simply by being at the conferences with the team.

11. Great news if you are a woman in tech! Lenox Park Solutions is determined to tackle gender inequality so you are more than welcome to the team.

How does all of this sound to you?

New York City

If you liked it, well, then you have a chance to meet all of us and check each item off from the list yourself. You can apply to our newly opened Engineering position and that’s it.

I am really excited to be welcoming our new team member soon.

Good luck!
